How Long Does The Program Take?

Completion times may vary with student effort, scheduling, and weather. While these timelines can be achieved with full time commitment, dedication and hard work, this fast-paced accelerated program is not for everyone. External factors such as bad weather and examiner availability can cause delays. A student’s natural ability, ability to assimilate new knowledge quickly and meet study goals can impact the duration of training. While we don’t guarantee any program completion time, our entire team is dedicated to your success and safe completion of the program within the time frame. Committed students ready to put in a lot of effort should plan for 9-12 months for the full Accelerated Airline Pilot Program and 6-9 months for the Accelerated Airline Pilot Program from Private and 80hrs.

Accelerated Airline Pilot Program (From Zero Time)

9-12 Months. 5 Days a Week
Program Hours280
Average Hours Per Flight Block1.5

The expectation to remain in the accelerated program is to complete 5 flight/simulator blocks per week on average. This means making up flight blocks missed due to bad weather, illness or any other factors, and requires a big effort on the part of the student. Note that there are some courses that provide more or less than 1.5 hour flight blocks per day. For example, there are longer flight blocks during cross-country experience, and more sporadic flight scheduling during CFI training.

Not maintaining this cadence on a weekly basis will have a dramatic effect on your program duration. This table illustrates the impact of not making up missed flights:

Staying in the Accelerated Program – Satisfactory Progress

Not everyone is able to keep up with the Accelerated Program. To stay in the Accelerated Program, Students need to meet certain progress goals. Meeting these goals ensures that Students are on track with the demanding schedule of the Program.

To stay in the Accelerated Program, a student must not fail to meet more than two of these criteria:

  • Keep up with all King Schools CBT Phases.
  • Have more than a 90% attendance of all Group Ground training sessions (in-person)
  • Achieve at least 85% on all FAA Knowledge Tests (1st or 2nd take)
  • Not be Unsatisfactory for more than 5 Phase Checks during the program.
  • Not be Unsatisfactory more than twice for a specific Phase Check.
  • Not be Unsatisfactory for more than 2 Check Rides during the program.
  • Be available for 5 flight/simulator schedule blocks per week.
  • Complete the program under 150% of the allotted time.

If a student no longer qualifies to remain in the Accelerated Program, their Academy package will be audited, and the balance will be refunded according to our Refund Policy. If the Student has been financed, the balance will be returned to the finance company or other party as agreed with the finance company.

If the Student wishes to continue training in the Club, the unfinanced balance may be transferred to Student’s FlightSchedulePro account and can be used for flight training and billed on a per-flight basis.

Transition to Club

As a Club Student the student may continue to fly, but is not scheduled with company Accelerated Scheduling, not tracked as part of an Academy cohort, not eligible for Mentor Ground and cannot attend Academy Group Ground courses as an included reward (these can be purchased as separate packages). Also, from time to time, Club students may be limited to 1 or 2 flights per week based on CFI/Airplane availability.
